ABOUT VERANOA

Veranoa learned to weave and to teach weaving with her mother - renowned weaver, teacher and artist - Erenora Puketapu-Hetet.For more than 35 years, Veranoa has taught Māori weaving in person and, since 2015, has guided thousands of weavers online through her clear, gentle teaching style.From her home studio in the papakainga of Waiwhetū in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Veranoa weaves daily, continuing her whānau legacy while nurturing a new generation of weavers in her virtual classroom.
